We have started the Fun & Finance series with an aim to make finance more fun and relatable via short 1 min stories by using fables or interaction with customers etc. We will try our best to help you learn something new in finance via these short stories.
Long long ago, in ancient times the Peacock did not have the beautiful feathers. The peacock begged the goddess Juno for these feathers to distinguish him from other birds.
The goddess Juno granted him his wish as the peacock was her favourite. All other birds became envious of the peacock. Even the most beautiful pheasant birds could see that their beauty was surpassed.
Later, one day the peacock saw an Eagle flying high up in the blue sky and felt the desire to fly, as he used to do so before his wish was granted.
As he tried to lift his wings to rise from the ground, but the weight of his magnificent feathers held him down.
He knew then that Instead of flying to greet the first rays of sunlight, he would have to walk from now.
Do not sacrifice your freedom for the sake of pomp and show.
The lesson we all must learn from this fable is that we must not give in to temptation.
We should not spend money by looking at others. If we spend for other people’s approval of us, then we set ourselves up for failure.
We have to plan our finances, so we can spend our money without damaging our financial fitness.
